Penn State Brandywine Students Help Celebrate Caregivers

Community support makes our Caregiver Connect Walk and Celebration possible - and this year, seven members of Penn State Brandywine’s Honors Student Association brought their time and enthusiasm to the event in Phoenixville.

The students served refreshments, helped create buttons with encouraging messages, and presented flowers to caregivers as they finished the walk. Each contribution helped create a welcoming day dedicated to recognizing the people who give so much to others.

First-year student Evangeline Juliet John Francis Kennedy connected the group with Fighting Back through her continued relationship with Natanya Sortland, whom she met through the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry’s Youth Leadership Program. The walk became the association’s first community service event of the year.

We’re grateful to these students for showing up for caregivers and helping celebrate their dedication, compassion, and love!

VISTA Today recently highlighted the students’ involvement in a story by David Bjorkgren, published November 4, 2026.
